Editor letters: A living wage is not an economic issue – this is justice one

In the editor: A living salary is an issue of justice. Pope Leo XIII stated this and just proofed by Pope Leo XIV. However the increase in living expenses did not result in compensation comparisons, with salary remaining (“La Council returns $ 30 minimum wage for hotels, despite warnings from the tourism industry,” May 14).

The argument from opponents about future developments. The loss of income, which they got behind underpaid workers, not a winning argument. It is time to support living salaries and can afford airport and hotel workers to obtain their fit for their benefit and continued support of the tourism industry.

Thanks to the members of the City Council valuing and supporting tourism workers.

In the editor: As it reads David Zahniser and Shahauna Hussain, I am looking for a reference to what costs in Southern California. If we look, for example, a mother who needs a habitat in two bedrooms, transportation, food and other clothes for heres for her own and children, what should she live in La County? Paying him anything less then means that the employer throws its responsibilities in government safety net.

Should we allow the employer to get away from the abuse of the system? Perhaps if the employer could not find the money to pay a living wage, the wages should be reduced and it will work in the managerial chain.
