Holding public office is a responsibility to others, not a personal benefit to the selected official. We need leaders who show a real commitment to their served by remaining connected and responsible. The Norfolk County District Attorney attorney failed at the most basic responsibility.
A scary attempt has rejected a veil of distrust throughout the Norfolk County Da’s Office. Despite the national attention, the da is important to remain unknown, allowing the drama and contempt for the sad loss of human life. DA failure to properly handle officer John O’Keefe’s case and other Sandra Birchmore’s (and killed by a young officer who has not talked to my community, causing, and commitment.
Wasted public expenditures of special advice to prosecute the reading case, if any number of competent, helping serious DA concerns to make good DA decisions. These are just a few elements of an undeniable fact: Current DA is no longer worthy of the important public position we trust him. So I’m running for Norfolk County Da.
Over the past nine months, I traveled throughout the Norfolk County to listen to residents. Two common themes emerged: Many are not sure who is the DA or what is office and, those who know, see DA as ineffective, ineffective and, in many cases. In many conversations, no one I say can talk at a time where Norfolk Da makes a public appearance in their community. It is not acceptable.
The current da was first selected in the public office in 1977 – almost fifty years ago. He will serve four, four years term such as DA in 2026 elections – three unchanged. During his mostly unscathed tenure, we see a part of public trust in this critical effect of office. In the heart of all operations in the DA office, there must be competent, professional leadership that inspires confidence and demonstrates a knowledge of criminal justice and law. It’s time to reimagine the way in which our DA served in Norfolk County. It’s time for a new leadership brand – one with an enthusiastic and participating in public safety.
As I saw, the corners of the effective government were professionalism, communication, collaboration, empathy, and accountability. Active, found leadership and procedure centered on the prosecution community will provide a long
conducting, orienting DA service to Norfolk County; one worthy of public trust and support.
Accountability is the most important element of good government. It requires visible and access. In Norfolk County, our da cannot be seen and cannot be found, and the following lack of accountability has given upcomes of disaster.
Criminal investigations have to get the whole picture to find out, the objective decisions can be. We must be grabbing from personal or political bias and bring an open mind, method based on the truth in each case. I’m not a politician; I am a criminal law attorney. I have served as administrator and advice on defense, promoting for thousands of people with different stories and challenges. I spent a lot of time within the criminal courts of this Commonwealth in twenty-five races and I was a true understanding of all the relevant perspectives – playing criminal justice. This is the type of professional experience we need in our DA.
When I started my legal career, I was given a quote that guides my criminal justice method today:
“The Safety of the Citizens Located in Prosecutors who seek the kindness of man, seeking people and not consequences, and no conflicting purposes.” – Robert H. Jackson, former General of the United States Lawyer and Supreme Court
I think that’s the sight we need to bring to Norfolk County. Make it together.
