US consumption sentiments continue to decrease in May while american expectations about future climb and concerns continue to impact President Donald Trump’s tariffs.
The University of Michigan surveys on Friday released its consumer’s index, which fell 50.8 in a preliminary reading of May after a final reading of 52.2 in April. The economists who have been wrapped by reuters look forward to the index to rise in 53.4.
The newest numbers left the Consumer Simultination Read 30% since January 2025 after five months reduction. The read at 50.8 is the second lowest record reading, after June 2022, in the month the latest inflationary cycle cycle.
