In the editor: It’s sad to know Billy and Tina is now in Tulsa Zoo, tied to Quarantine, instead of one of many sanctuaries eagerly.“Elephants Billy and Tina pulling at La Zoo at night among protests, reaching the Tulsa,” May 21). My frustration in the learning of Mayor Karen Bass does not intervene compound to the advocates of animals moving participants to help animals. Animals require more reliable friends.
I live in Pacific Palisades from the time opened by Rick Caruso Developence and always see Caruso, always with his beloved dog by his side. I appreciate his support of Santa Barbara human society. And I can’t stop whether he can talk for both elephants who spend decades in the zoos and deserves a real retirement of hundreds of hectares. Animal advocates should learn his principle, and his willingness to be involved in animal welfare issues, before the next election cycle.
