In the editor: I was shocked that the Sable Offshore had surgical restart (“Offshore operation near Santa Barbara will continue to produce after 10 years,” May 20).
We faced a federal administration with no respect for the law, and now our state rejected us about it. Where are you, Govin Newsom? Do you watch Sable Offshore Defy State Law? Do you look like as good as the CALIFORNIA coastal commissions left-and-desist orders and start operation in this pipeline?
We know that the pipeline is old, touched and unsafe. We know it’s a route waiting waiting to happen. We know that the next leak may be more destructive than a 10 year old.
We showed numbers to try to protect our beaches, our shore, our sea creatures, our tourism economy. We make a lot of noise. News, how do you hear us yet?
