Minibuses for rural routes are in production | Manufacturing sector

It is interesting to read the letter (13 June) From Mike Parker about rural buses, which makes the argument fit with minosmair routes should be done. And that such business can be ideal for an entrepreneur.

Ironically, it was only a few days before that letter, on 4 June, that rachel reeves made her transport funding announcement of £ 15.6bn from the premises of mellor, West yorkshire, make a range of buses, including 16-seater Ones suitable for rural routes.

Mellor and Treeka are the same aspect of the Nicholelson tree group. The group’s business was obtained by 2023 of a Belgian businessman, Guido Dumarey, to add to his portfolio. So there are appropriate buses and have an entrepreneur – let’s hope he keeps manufacturing businesses in the UK.

This is a mercy used in chassis for European buses (Mercedes and Iveco / Fiat) because no UK manufacturers fit chassis – now have a chance. However, while Ford stopped and DAF stopped that class of chassis in the UK years ago, I didn’t see any obvious candidates. Maybe Renault / Stellantis or can be used from their Porlmere Port factory.
