The National Transportation Board (NTSB) issued an urgent safety recommendation on Wednesday Jet machines The 737 Max of Boeing Airplanes to prevent smoke from entering cockpit or cabin in certain scenarios.
Warning comes after two incidents involving Southwest Airlines Airplanes equipped with CFM International Leap-1B bird-experienced machines attack 2023.
NTSB says these CFM machines have a safety feature, called a device reduced loading, which is unavoidably damaging to machines once a bird strike. Damage can result in smoke forming from hot oil-released oil and enter the ventilation system and eventually the cockpit or passenger or passenger cabin.
NTSB investigates an incident in December 2023 involving a southwest plane plane hit a bird while leaving from New Orleans. The plane quickly ended after “acrid white smoke” filled the cockpit and thickness that the captain said the instrument panel is difficult to see.

Another event nine months ago involving similar damage to the engine occurring another engine flight from Havana, after birds later after the smoke filling the cabin.
In both cases, flights that safely arrived safely, and no one was injured.

The NTSB also recommends evaluating the potential for the same issue of jumping CFM-1A and Airbus A320Neo aircraft conducted by commercial corporate plane to China.
CFM is owned by Geospace and Safran airfield vehicles.

“We advise operators to evaluate their crew methods and training to ensure that they address this potential issue,” as the FAA. “When the machine manufacturer develops a permanent control, we need operators to implement it within a suitable time.”
