DPIIT approved 187 starts for tax relief under revised section 80-IAC framework

The decision comes in the 80th meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Board (IMB), held on 30th April 2025, the Ministry of Commerce & Industry said in a statement.

According to a DPIIT spokesman, the tax benefit allows eligible to start 100 percent of the tax-in-one-five-year joining window.

The design is designed to support those who have emerged businesses in their formal years, encouraging change, work creation, and work wealth.

Overall approval, 75 starts have been deleted in the 79th meeting of the IMB and 112 of the 80th meeting. With this, more than 3,700 startups are now given exemptions since the start of the scheme.

In a significant Union Budget Notice 2025-26, Government has raised the window window for beginnings to claim benefits under section 80-IAC. Startups include before 1st April 2030 are currently qualified to apply, which provides more time and opportunity to new efforts to benefit from this financial assistance.

However, the revised outline of evaluation identified by DPIIT makes the application process more structured and transparent. Complete applications are now reviewed within 120 days, ensure faster decision making and reducing processing methods.

Starts not approved by the latest rounds are encouraged to change and refine their applications.

DPIA advises applicants to focus on the display of technology change, market potential, hardness, and a clear contribution to work growth and economic growth.
