The newest version of Qi2 Wireless Standard come to iPhones and some Android handsets. It also received a snappy, new branding of QI2 25W, which symbolizes wireless charging, which is more mile better than the previous Qi2.2 name.
The big hook here is right in the name. QI2 25W provides 25 watts to deliver power to corresponding products, which is a 66 percent increase in the pre-aning Qi2 platform. Paul Stressaker, Executive Director of Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) says “The Qi2 charging wireless encouragement to increase wireless use and acceleration of adopting a new standard.”
New iPhones have already used Qi2 standard, so the future adoption of Qi2 25w is not that surprise, even if it is a good news. Most Android phones, however, The QI2 is not yet certifiedSo it is a potentially changing game activity for the platform. Some Android phones can involve QI2 charging, but it usually requires a dedicated magnetic case in some sort.
Smartphones are the only newest category adopted QI2 25W. Several products, including Power Banks and Chargers, proved earlier this month. Qi2 25un, back when it is called Qi2.2, first announced in April. WPC says there are “several hundred” queue devices waiting to try and receive official certification. We still don’t know which Android phones are in the queue.
