I ordered the deliberate starvation to Gaza’s children – why does this world allow it? | Nick Maynard

IIts writing from the Nasser Hospital in the south Gazawhere I have finished operating another intense adverse young teenager. A seven-month-old child is located in our Pediatric intensive care unit, very little and bad I rejected for a newborn. The phrase “skin and bones” did not do justice in the way his body was destroyed. He literally wasted our eyes and, despite our best efforts, we had no power to save him. We are witnessing deliberately in Gaza today.

This is my third time in Gaza since December 2023 as a voluntary surgeon Medical Aid for Palestinians. I experienced mass events and raised the alarm about malnutrition Back to January 2024. But no I’m preparing for the most horror I’m trying today: the weapon of starvation against an entire population.

The Malnutrition crisis has become a danger since my last visit. Every day I look at patients who get worse and die, not from their wounds, but because they are less malnourished to survive the operation. Healing surgery we made falls fallen, patients get terrible infections, then they die. This is happening always, and it makes it sad. Four children died in the last few weeks of this hospital – not from bombs or ammunition, but from famine.

Families and staff are their best to try to carry their can, but there is not enough food available in Gaza. For infants, almost no child formula. Children are given 10% dextrose (sugar water), without nutritional value, and often their mothers are less malnourished breastfeeding. If an international companion is attempted to bring the child’s formula to Gaza, It was confiscated by the authorities of Israel.

Benjamin Netanyahu’s double method: Blocking food from Gaza entry while leaving desperate civilians with no choice to receive some limited goods. Until May, Gaza has more than 400 distribution sites with the assistance which people safely access food safely. Now there are only four of the military zones in the south where the hungry families are often filled with attack.

I heard twelve casualties in trauma flooding the emergency department of Gaza daily – mostly injured in the gun from military distribution points. I’m acting at the boys aged 12 to 15, whose relatives say they were shot while trying to get food for their families. Last week a 12-year-old died on the operating table, shot in the stomach of what could have been described as a trap of death for those who seek the main meal.

My eMergency Department members have also reported a disturbing pattern: Damages focus on specific parts of the body in different days – legs, legs, suggested intentional parts of the body.

In recent days, I operate two girls shot at Quadcopters While keeping their tents near one of the locations, according to the people who brought them. One breastfeeded his son when he was hit; the second pregnant. Grateful, both endured their injuries so far. These women do not seek help – they simply hiding places believed to be “safe” but exposed to IDF weapon weapons.

Not only are patients here that are bad, but also health workers. When I first arrived, I could hardly recognize companions I worked last year – some lost 30kg. At lunch, some doctors and nurses lead to distribution sites, they know that they risk death but no choice if they want to feed their families.

Nasser Hospital is the last major major functionality of the Hospital in southern Gaza, but we operate closure at the point, recurring Previous Attacks and overwhelmed by mass casualties, all while facing the shortcomings of all. Netanyahu’s systematic disposition of Gaza’s care system has fun decomposed medical needs at this facility while directing health care workers. This week, one of our dear theater nurses were killed in his tent with his three little children.

I want to be clear – what Palestinians do in Gaza is Barbaric and fully suppressed. I can’t believe that we have a point where the world is looking while the people of Gaza are forced to endure starvation and gun, all while eating and medical assistance is just miles from them.

The enforced malnutrition and attack of civilians will kill thousands more if not immediately stopped. Each day to give up many children die not only ammunition or bombs, but from hunger. A permanent ceasefire, the free and safe flow of assistance through the non-leading system, and blockade lift is now needed – and everyone can achieve political will.

The UK government’s continued affirmation of Israel’s cruelty is unimaginable, and I do not want to spend a day operating children shot by a military supported by our government. History does not judge those who do these crimes, but those who stand there and look.

From the inside of the Nasser Hospital, I speak to you: it’s deliberate. This is avoided. And it should give up now.
