Sarax case Ioanniticus (Kritscher, 1959) (Ambllypygi, Charontidae)

Through a combination of literary investigation, targeted field surveys and citizeny-science contributions, we have confirmed the presence of warp iuannitian (Kritscher, 1959) in Cyprus, which represents the first documented record of these island species. After seven years dedicated searches, a live specimen was collected in 2023 and recognized, thus set S. iuannitian as part of the island’s wealthy fauna. This search extends the known type of S. iuannitian Within eastern Mediterranean and highlight the importance of participating in biodiversity research with a public fartement to determine the heavier taxa. Incoming studies should investigate species’ local ecological distribution, ecological requirements and potential caution in Cyprus.
