Exercise helps to fight cancer – and we can find out why

Exercise is known to help prevent cancer and prevent growth of developing boots. It also associated with changes in a microbiome – and now researchers show how these changes can result in cancer cancer effect.

Myries Meisel At the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania and his companions provide an aggressive form of melanoma in two groups of mice. A group is in a four-weeks of exercise regimen, while another group is fixed.

As expected, rats who exercise have small tumors and better safety rates. However, in animals treated with antibiotics or kept in full recovery, exercise does not show benefit. The evidence is clear: magic is in germs, as well as the molecules they produce, called metabolites.

But microbiome makes thousands of metabolites, so researchers use machine learning to help seize molecules of candidates and shaped. This is a metabolite of bacteria increased by exercising and extends the ability of CD8 T cells in the immune system – which is the key to cancer fighting.

Next, the team looks at 19 people with advanced melanoma. Those with high forms of form have longer developed free development than lower levels.

“This research emphasizes the importance of evaluating metabolites made bacteria, and not only what bacteria,” Meisel said.

But he warned that there was a lot of research to do. “What happens if the patient stops exercising? Is the effect missing or how to keep it? There’s more we need to understand,” he said.

Meisel and his team are now looking when changes induced to workout with a microbiome can cause a role in other situations.
