The extreme heat of La School campuses should be ‘urgent’ answered

In the editor: We should act motivated to solve the extreme heat of our public school campuses (“Dealing with extreme heat is a full-time job for children’s parents – and their schools,” July 8). In contrast to the article description, the Unified School District of Los Angeles makes the green space a priority following my 2022 resolution that set a new pattern that requires all school playgrounds to include at least 30% green space. Since then, our district dedicates more than $ 1.2 billion funds approved by voter leading to greening projects and more than 150 greening projects currently progressing.

As the deputy for the East San Fernando Valley Schools and a Parent of Lausdo, we know that we started to see the positive outcomes of our warmth campuses. We need and do more to change all our public school campuses in urgency demanded in the issue of environmental justice.

In the editor: I also know the difficult way that air conditioning is a necessity of life or death, not a luxury. During a brutal wave wave in late July 2022, my 4-month playing floor tile in my house, with no AC. She slowly stopped to shake her rattle, then stopped making sounds, then rubbed her cheek on the floor and was placed blank on the wall. I checked his temperature and found it 103 degrees.

Now it’s afraid, I stripped him, washed him with cool clothes and brought her to the car full of blast. We run home in my laws, with AC, and put him on the floor of the tree. After an hour, he began to move and withdraw again and he was good. That was the most scary day of my life, thinking that I looked at my son to die in my eyes. As we move a year later, AC is No. 1 non negotiable item on our list for our new home.
