This Fourth of July, America began a year of celebration and meditation as we prepared for semiquinintial next year from our established fathers who were boldly expressed from Britain.
Milestones give opportunity to reflect on the importance of one moment in a long storyline. However, for most Americans, July 4th rarely a milestone. Always, it’s a short recognition and – indeed, for most – a day to go to the grill and see fireworks.
But in the fourth of July, how can we think about this important, the last 249 years, and 250 to come?
We need to think about our democracy with great hope and determination. At the same time, we need to know that our democracy faced significant challenges – protests, political violence, external threats and increases polarization.
American democracy is unique, weak and well-known – reasons forcing every American to recommend to strengthen it. Our founder places a vision for a country, driven by democratic principles, not monarchy. A country where power is in the hands of people, not a countless tyranny. A country where the rights are protected, not subject to an uncontrollable leader. Our establishment insures all government understanding.
And – In the glorious paraox, the United States – the views that form our democratic nation has violated them in more profound ways by slavery and stress.
Our country’s chance is located in the noble vision of our constitution and bill of rights, as well as long struggles to ensure that all Americans can fulfill the building documents. Moral principles and self-correcting mechanisms of our democracy have become beacon and eternal struggle tools for all Americans and an inspiration for the world.
The remarkable is our journey, built by the democratic principles and endless struggles in obeying the principles.
As we see from the country’s surroundings, democracy and freedom can be obtained from their people, chosen or unrestrained, choosing the violation of power for personal profitability. Today, American democracy faced threats, foreigners and households, trying to weaken our country.
As President Ronald Reagan said, “Freedom is a weak thing, and it cannot be done by a generation without the end of a generation.
Our democracy has been changed. Democracy is needed in steady, principle guarding of brave patriotic. Our own fathers have left the yoke of the colonial kingdom and made a new democratic country, a shining town on the hill. The principles of our country and courage of our patriops enable our country to improve.
We will make this July 4 an important recommendation to reinforce American democracy.
