Dubai municipality The contract was given for the first round of Ras Al Khor All Khor Schifual Development Project, with an AED100M value ($ 27.2m).
The full project of two phase costs of AED650M ($ 177m) and designed to set the sanctuary as a global city model.
The progress is in line with the directives of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid, Vice Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai to align the 2040 master master plan.
RAS AL KHOR WILDLIFE SANCTUARY IN DUBAI PHASE OR
Covering 6.4sq km, phase one of the project focuses on rehabilizing natural ecosystems, with a huge weight of biodiversity and climate reliability:
- 60 percent increase in Mangrove ranges (from 40 to 65 acres)
- 144 percent increase in water bodies (up to 74 acres), supporting 60 percent more suction to co₂
- Creating new habits including mangrove lake, North Scores Lake, and Reed Pond
- Add 10 hectares of salt salts (mudes)
- Progress to a green spine and continuous ecological monitoring
The Sanctuary, who has already attracted about 20,000 migratory birds annually, including flamingos, expected to increase annual visitors sixfold.
Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary in Dubai Phase Two
Phase two will focus on infrastructure and guest advances to 20,000 square meters, including:
- A guest center, birdwatching tower, restaurant, kiosks, and educational centers
- 5.6km of cycling tracks and 3km on walkways
- 23 hectares of new landscaping
- Dedicated spaces for events and environmental awareness initiatives
International experts have been designed in the collaboration of the Dubai Environment Authority Authority, the Dubai development project in a lasting development and environmental design.

The Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary is the first UAE site listed under Ramsar Convention in 2007 and classified under international unity for saving nature (IUCN) instructions.
It is hosted nearly 450 species of Flora and Fauna and have an important role in the ecological balance in the region.
