In the editor: Did you do me (“Parents, Chill: Why don’t you need to teach your 3-year-old read,” June 24)? My son, though claimed to have accuracy, exposed to phonics, diphthongs, numbers and whole words before he 1 year old. Those diphthe books implement him at work for hours. He told the alphabet back at the time he was a year and a half old and also made reading road signs.
I talked and sang him in my pregnancy and I truly believe that a good start of the head. I made all of a learning experience and he enjoyed the more of his life and talked to his needs better than his peers.
Heck, he fits me backgammon for 3 years old! So why wait to start reading? That’s a waste of three years when a child’s life can – and should-be more fulfilled, and your own life can be easier and filled with more wonderful than you can imagine than you can imagine.
