The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) holds a high level of senior officials from Air India and Air India expressing airline and passenger service regulations. The meeting took place on Tuesday while the two carriers to handle 1,000 flights everyday throughout the domestic and international routes.
Main concerns and recommendations
During the discussion, the DGCA indulges in maintenance delays – related India maintenance to improve coordination with sharing teams. Airline is also advised to ensure adequate parts of extras can be used to reduce passenger’s destructions and firmly compliant with regulations.
The impact of new airspace restrictions, especially in Aranian airspace, re-evaluated. These closures caused flight trips, delay, and cancellation. DGCA directs the planes to continue during the communications of passengers and crews and to adopt alternate routes to minimize disruptions.
The regulator reminds operators in their obligations under Civil Aviation (Car) Section 3 Seceries IV & V, promoting active passenger information and passive.
Monitoring Boeing Air Indeing 787 Flete revealed that there is no major safety concerns, with the plane systems found in safety standards.
Regarding the “Enhanced Safety Inspection” of Air India’s Entire B787-8 / 9 Fleet, Comprising 33 Aircraft, DGCA reported that 24 planes have successfully completed the inspection as of June 17, 2025. Four aircraft are undergoing major maintenance checks, with others scheduled for completion Soon. Two planes based on Delhi inspect before returning to service.
The regulator also recommends implementing a real-time defect reporting system to improve operational judgment and reduce disruptions.
The DGCA himself confirmed the commitment to ensure the safety of passengers, surgical confidence, and regulatory compliance and continue to monitor scheduled operators.
