In the editor: Columnist Steve Lopez asks if LA is ready for its arrest (“Three years away from the Olympics, LA transping hurdles and trying to play catchup,” June 7). With the World Cup a year and the Olympics in 2028, I don’t think so.
A more inspiring question: Is the world ready for the United States to host anything? Does anyone think that countries join the World Cup will appear? Will fans come back? We have already banned people from a participant country, Iran, from traveling here and are in the process of refusing visas and arrest of thousands. World Cup fans don’t just show up to rerdsted the turnstiles in the arms of immigration and customs implementation.
Facilitate the Olympics. Protests today do not stop. How to prepare this city for Olympics? For tourists? I am very embarrassed by what is happening in this country and fully expects the rest of the world to withdraw US 65 countries Russia invaded Afghanistan.
