We write about the call for a strike by resident doctors (Report, 22 May). We make it as experienced professionally and potential patients. There is a real case paying for residents of the doctors who fall back, but a 22% increase last year and an offer of inflation offer this year to meet that. Certainly more than most of our colleagues, other professional groups and patients obtained, and it cannot be easily attracted to resource resource.
Someone remains important problems around working conditions and training. They need strong resolution but it cannot be achieved by strikes.
We have witnessed many governments, NHS changes and with failures for our work. It has not been compromised, and should not compromise, the needs and care of people who seek help. So we all go to this profession. A strike now damages patients and reduce the cause of doctors. Calls to attack the wrong sense of country condition. No extra money – it’s a worthless witness, guiding people in a maze with no poison.
In our view, the NHS is in a more dangerous condition than at any time in our careers. Doctors’ attacks are more likely to reduce the NHS ability to give, and play with the hands of those who do not believe in a public-funded nhs and do not necessarily need not. We encourage resident doctors to keep the Spirit of Hippocratic oath – vote for NHS and vote not to hit the action.
