Regev Hails Wizz Air Interest in Israel Hub

On his journey in Budapest last week, the time to arrive in public criticism, the Minister of Transport Miri Regav Regav trading in a hub of an hub in Israel’s plane. “

The announcement made the waves, because the Wizz wind has a fleet of 230 planes, and a hub of Israel to increase the contest of aviation number.

“This is the great news for the public of Israel, especially at a time when some foreign aircraft reduces their activity,” as a statement when reward said. “We will increase offering flights and destinations aviation Giant Wizz Air, with low price restoring consumer power.”

Government and aviation industry sources do not share happiness, arguing that the initiative is not possible, due to criticism of flying requirements and locations, with disabilities.

Meanwhile, history (general federation of Israel’s labor) demands that the Ministry of Transport should stop moving and coordinating it. “Any arrangement required by a small number of specified interests that harm the Safety of the Israeli Airlines … and as a resultovers the strength of strength,” the histadrut claimed.

Regav has announced forming a team to work vis-à-vis wizz, but an inter-ministerial team began opening a hub before regev’s visit to Budapest. Many problems arise, however, and they doubt if they can surview.

After the “open sky” reform of Israel “any European Airline can move a flight from Israel to any European destination. Since 2012, Wizz Air works from Israel, and it has slots to landing on it.

The location of a hub in the plane determines where its planes will be completed, and start the next day. It is Israel’s competition in foreign plane, because they can operate flights with the first and last holes in the day wants to go out at night. Another Hub of Israel will require the same slots allotted by the Hungarian plane.

The other side of the picture is that Israel’s planes are tied to the regulation not available on foreign plane, including bribe agreements and Security Services of El al, which are provided with these services. So if the Wizz wind opens an Israeli hub and looks for registration as a company of Israel, the same regulation regime is available. According to industry sources, there is no obvious reason that it will pay for wizzy air.

On the other hand, if the Wizz wind remains a foreign company running an Israeli hub and compete for no-profit traits. In closed discussions, professionals explain it gradually leading to the collapse of Israeli companies, even if the Israeli companies also warned the “Open Skies” agreemration.

The Israeli Airlines are important in economic and strategic conditions, because they continue to fly even in crises. There are many examples of these in the last couple of years, and they have given money recorded for the company of Israel. Yesterday, Lufthansa group announced that it was raised during the suspension of Israel’s journeys until June 22 (included), after announcing the cancellation of trips until June 15 last week.

Opportunity to Wizz’s Air

Wizz air interest in setting a hub in Israel is clearly: it is a great business opportunity, because the company can enter a useful time. The company size allows this to take equipment at a discount, wage costs are lower than local plane, and market situations are tempting.

The Israeli aviation market breaks parts: tourism, business, religious tourism, and family visit. From a macro-economic point of view, part of the business is the most important, and in that part there is no crisis in the supply of trips. In part of the tourism, the opposite, the demand of Israel will change. While the main three socio-economic packages are associated with specific destinations, lower disciplines are more likely to change the selected vacation. After Turkey is a choice, for example, the routes in the Baltic countries begin to develop.

Israel’s overall needs are relatively tight. The market analyzes also shown that Israeli travel is more sensitive to the price than travelers in Europe. As long as Hungarian were born, all these factors marked Israel as a target for a hub, similar to what they set other countries such as Malta, Abu Dhabi, and UK.

In order to benefit from all these aspects of the Israeli market, Wizz Air is demanding that the hub should be at Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport, and not at Ramon Airport near Eilat, as was initially proposed by the Ministry of Transport. However, the problem of Ben Gurion, is that there is a serious lack of slots, especially in mornings, which is essential to economic economy in a hub.
