Purchase for tents can be easily found in a world of unfamiliar terms, trying to figure out what a DFC pyramid means a welded bathtub. Here is our guide to the terms you need to understand.
One / double relative: A double wall tent is the most common, consisting of a tentative tent (wall 1) and a rainfall (wall 2) between you and the elements. A wall of Tent is, Um, a wall. The advantage of a wall of tent is that it is lighter. The advantage of a double wall tent is to squeeze (usually) escapes the outer wall and does not drop you while you sleep. We recommend both types.
Freestanding: Does the tent stand by himself or do you need to point it? If it stands on itself through the tension of the pole, it is a freestanding tent. If it’s not, no. There are also some hybrid designs, which are often called semi-freestanding, where you need to hold onto one end.
As I start this guide, I’m strong in Freestanding Camp. Freestanding tents as easy to deal with, and in some ways they are. Most tents camping these days are freestanding. After trying so many non-freestanding tents, I know that an advantage is not good as I think. All non-freestanding means so you need to conform to your tent if you are referring to it. If you look forward to the wind or rain you want to do however, even if your tent “freestanding.” The biggest reduction in non-freestanding or semi-freestanding tols is that you don’t quickly move them once they are set up.
Vestibule: In a double wall wall, the race is usually broken outside the door of the inner tent. That leaves a space that is not on The tent but still protected from rain and element. The vestibule is a good place for annoying wet gear and cooking when it is raining, and it helps make a small tent larger. Generally speaks, the more vestibule, the better.
DCF / Cuben Fiber: Dyneama Composite Fiber (DCF) also known as Cuben Fiber. The two industrial terms for tents made of dinneema, which is a very loud, very lightwear. It is also born and may be annoying, but if it comes as light as possible, DCF is hard to top. For thoroughly breaking all materials used in tents, see below the tent below.
High height: How tall is the tent at the highest point. Depending on the form of the tent, it may or may not help, but it can indicate how much headroom you have in the tent. In a tents of pole however, peak length is usually high but easy to lose, meaning you don’t have your mind on your mind.
gate: Two people and bigger tents need two doors. Ascending your partner with midnight hiking is not fun for anyone. Too many two people and a bigger tent I’ve tried lately there are two doors, but others also have a second full size vestibule, which is good.
