In the editor: DOGE is a good start? Did we forget when they fired hundreds of national nuclear experts and tried to scramble it back? What’s the matter when the computer generants know how to read the data and thinks there are millions of dead people collecting social security? Or if they “accidentally” cut Ebola in Ebola? If you are running into a business it’s bad, you’ll be right away.
It’s funny how people think of “effectiancy” and “fraud” are always worried about programs that help citizens and none of the poor corporate corruption. Medicare? Far cheap and more efficient than private insurance. The advantage of Medica, the widespread arrival of private insurers? Wildly wasted but never in any so-called conservative’s chopping block. Republicans often sing about “Reasonable Responsibility,” but a quick way to save money is to not give trillions of billionaire taxes. If you want a government that works effectively, you need to fund and stick it properly, not random people and surprise when people make something important.
