A Fireball in the Desert Mountains on the Day of May 30, 2025

What is it?

A bright meteor, also called fireball, seen to fall into the air. From the camera’s sight, it appears in the sky above the Dome of Kitt Peak National Observatory.

Where is it?

The Kitt Peak National Observatory is in the Sonoran desert, in Tucson, Arizona. The area was selected for access to dark skies and in its length – over a mile (2.1 kilometer) above sea level – the placement of the telescope in most thick surroundings of our planet.
