Letters to the Editor: While the research funds cut, do US see the next main brain brain?

In the editor: Good thing about government funded research is that results are in public domain. This means that any citizen is able to use that research to develop and sell their own products.

This article in Los Angeles Times reveals the foolishness of the US Trump government cancellation, the result that other countries offer researchers who have lost their funds (“Scientists have lost their jobs or given to cut us. Foreign universities want to rent them,” May 25). The next brain drainage will come from our country.

Since the 1950s, the development of new materials, computers, communications, drugs and more likely to occur because the government supports researchers of universities in universities and other organizations. This is a big mistake in getting our country out of run.
