Coronavirus JN-1 Variant: Over 1,000 active Indian cases; Covid-related death reports these states, here is all you need to know

Coronavirus cases are increasing in the country. Some states also report to death-related cases. On Saturday, a 55-year-old woman in Noida tested positively in Covid-19. This is the first case of Uttar Pradesh’s Noida.

Active Indian cases

According to the current data of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Official Website, there are 1,010 active cases (as of May 26, 2025, at 8 AM IST) in India.

Corona cases in other states

As with the latest data from Health and Family Welfare, India has 1,010 cases in Couvas (430), Maharashtra (210), and Delhi (104) reporting the highest number of cases. Seven deaths were reported from Maharashtra (4), Kerala (2) and Karnataka (1).

Jn.1 COVID Variant Symptoms

The Jn.1 Coviv variant shows symptoms compared to the past, such as fever, sore throat, fatigue, dry cough, and loss of taste or odor. However, many reports – including one from Johns Hopkins – showing that diarrhea and other gastrointestinal problems can be more common in JN.1. Some typical complaints include fatigue and nostrils.
