What books don’t books do you love?

What books don’t books do you love?

We’ve written a lot ClarityBut on another day, a reader named Jennifer asked:

Yes! Great idea, Jennifer. Let’s talk about not fiction!

I love love love memoirs and biography – Here’s a bunch I recommend – And I have learned a lot from them. It is incredible to open the eye to read what it is like living in another person’s life in their particular struggles. Reading memoirs makes me feel better empathy, knowing for others and also knows how many people fight a lot of fights we can’t see. Sometimes I wonder if everyone should read 40 memoirs in their life, the world can be a very different place.

Here are 10 I worship:
Tell me how it ends: an essay of 40 questions by Valeria Luiselli
Beautiful country by Qian Julie Wang
Normal family By Christ Biltson
Identify my name by Chanel Miller
You will never believe what happened to Lacey by Amber Ruffin and Lacey Lamar
So help me with Gosh by Brooke Barker
Persepolis by Majane Satrra
Heating and cooling By bet ann fennelly
In love By Amy Bloom
If the breath becomes air by Paul Kalanithi Xo

However! Besides memoirs, I haven’t read as many straight character / history / science / psychology / etc. I’m so glad to hear what your recommendations you have. Also, the New York Times makes a list of 21 books of bad news to read this spring (Gift link), if you want to read.

Please share your recs below; I really want to hear. And thank you, Jennifer, for the post request.

PS What is one thing that you readand What is your memoir title?
