Changing our dining room with wallpaper
When we bought this house, we fell in love with the little nook with originally built-ins. It’s a happy, radiant space and I can’t wait to decorate it!
The room was used to wallpepeped in a quirky, modern wallpaper with monkeys. When I shared it with my empty book tour videoA lot of people commented we need to keep Wallpaper on Monkey. For me, that’s the beautiful thing about Wallpaper – it can be fiercely personal and express!
I know that I like a wallpaper that feels warm and good – almost a form of autumn autumn. I also wanted a paper that could come from the time when our house was built, in 1904.
I consider many different papers, take care to imagine each other decorated Kamdanda,, Christmasor children’s birthday decorations on birthdays. I ended up to pick it up Intermediate the patter. The flower pattern feels perfectly mixed with comfortable, inviting and historical.
What is the thought of choosing the wallpaper for your dining room
- Always buy wallpaper samples. Wallpapers can be different in person than they can see online. If you buy from a place like Antropologie That’s no samples, look for the wallpaper elsewhere offered them. It’s always worth the extra $ 5- $ 10 per sample to see it in person. I kept a collection of samples because sometimes I found a house for a particular pattern later.
- Consider the size and parts of your house. Many prints are printed the looks of big open rooms, while super stiffened changes appear better in smaller rooms. I always asked my wallpaper installer’s advice for their mind or didn’t think a pattern looks good in a space. Rooms with many angles require more forgiving patterns so it doesn’t notice.
- Consider the weather in your house. For my historic household, I want to use patterns that may have the time it is built. Many modern and fun patterns I think a better for new houses. Survive to wonder if you find a wallpaper option you love to be due to your house. Of course, this is your house and the last call you – so choose what to say to you and what you know you can enjoy for a long time.
- I often use a professional installer. In my experience, the wallpaper price is always the same as the installer’s labor price. So, a large room with a large angles that may have several thousand dollars for installation and a small room, like this breakfast nook, usually under $ 1,000 for installation. The reason I’ve always used a professional because I’m not perfectist and this job requires accuracy and skill. To me, it is worth hiring a professional for this job.
- Many wallpaper installers don’t install skin and stick wallpaper, be sure to check. I prefer traditional skin wallpaper and stick unless it is for a small space (perhaps lining shelves or a closet). I have many issues with the skin and stick wallpaper for years I don’t experience traditional wallpaper.

Here’s how the wallpaper Our breakfast has become Nook. I like how it strengthened the original built-in and big windows. This is a warm and friendly space!
