Southwest monsoon is expected to come to Kerala in the next four to five days, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). This is about a week before while monsoon usually comes in June 1.

Updating on monsoon further advance and monsoon onset over Kerala (issued on 20th May 2025), IMD said, “The Northern Limit of Monsoon continues to pass through 5°N/60°E, 6°N/65°E, 7°N/70°E, 7°N/75°E, 8°N/80°E, 10.5 ° N / 85 ° E, 15 ° N / 90 ° E and 21 ° N / 95 ° E. The conditions are likely to be favorable for Monsoon Awset in Kerala in the next 4-5 days. “
