Shapir Engineering & Industry (Tase: Spen) Win Israel Airports Authority to build Ben Gurion Airport West Interchange on road 1 and the airport path. It is one of the largest infrastructure projects due to the Ben Gurion airport in the coming years and to ease the traffic violation of the region.
Today vehicles traveling to airport from Tel Aviv on road 1 should go through the airport and enter from the eastern side before driving west to Terminal 3 Building. The new exchanges will turn this journey in about 10 miles and relieve the traffic to Tel Aviv-Jerusalem in Kfar Habad and the current entry to the airport. The project also supports the additional number of passengers expected to use the airport, predicted to reach 30 million in 2030.

The cost of the project is estimated by NIS 1 billion. Some of the preparations of lakes in the preparation made by Netivi Ayalon Co. and the work at the airport to take place in the shapir. Job is scheduled to be completed by 2029.
New exchanges will include three aialial river bridges, which directly connect to road 1 to airport terminals and allow a rapid exit from western airport. The new passage will include nine paths for making security checks in cars entering the airport.
