Hannah Haehn, the co-founder at home store The post supplyLived with his two children at the house of his late grandparents in Los Angeles. “My father was recently doing some renovations, but before that, it had a heavy tweed wallpaper and brown carpet,” he laughed. “It’s nice – but definitely a vibe at that time!” Here is looking inside …
sin
Sofa: before. Coffee Table: Wayfair. Candle: The post supply. Rattan seat in Rattan before. Rug: Vintage. Piano piano: family hand-me-down. Print: From “Living on Earth” by Alicia Bay Laurel.
To relax: The key to a comfortable house, I feel, no one is very precious. I get a sofa with covers that can be dropped by washing because I want everyone to count the bottom of sheets and eating snacks, without stressing spills or crumbs. The more things used and worn, the more enthusiastic and home they feel.
In a trick for glowy lights: I believe in three tiers in the light of rule. First, there is a tier of light on a higher level, like a long lamp on the floor. Then there is a light level of the face, like a sconsce. Finally, the third light is below you, like a light on the table or candle. There is something about three tiers who make the room feeling around and warm.
To a new class of coming: This year, I decided to stop all my TV subscriptions because fliping shows I don’t feel good. Now if I want to look at something, I have to pay to rent a series or movie, making me just looking at the things I like.
Books: Ikea.
In hobbies: I played the guitar since I was 16, and I wanted to play at home for my children. Recently I am in ancient songs of Carter and Johnny Cash family. I like anything in the broken musical scene in the old country. If it is crying to you, here I am!
KITCHEN
In memory of loved ones: I feel the presence of my grandparents most of our kitchen. Grew up, I sit on their desk and eat semaned German bread and very loudly cheese, while watching my grandmother cooked Steam Noodle (steamed buns) or Potatoes broth (potato broth). Each time I washing dishes, standing right where he stood, I felt him.
Paint: The Admiral Blue from BOLR. Mug: Ginny Sims.
In blue cabinets: My father painted these cabinets bright blue French. It adds to mixing aesthetics in this house – there’s a lot! My grandparents’ researches have an ancient feeling in the world, and my own furniture is more modern. But that’s okay – life is a generation collection at times.
To go to the recipes: I cook from Nut by Jess Damuck, and he made a very good Tinhi Banana Bread. I also make a lot of broth. One year, my son gave me a can of broth for my birthday because he said it was my favorite thing.
Restaurant
Danin Table: clear. Meal seats: Wayfair. Drysers: Link to Vintage Henry. Pendant lamp: Ravenhill Studio.
In German learning: My grandfather was born in Luxembourg, and my father’s first language was German. I always wanted to talk to my grandparents in their own language, so I took college German classes, and thankful, I had a conversation with their conversation.
In an open door: We can shorten 10 people in our meal and always invite friends for the veggie pasta. Most of the time, my friends will allow themselves before we can get home, so when we show, families play and eating the popsicles outside. And it feels good. My grandparents often host, so they feel that they have blessed relationships that form this house.
In Contrass: This is my Hutch of Grandma, and holds all my GREAT-Grandma’s China. It means so much to me.
quarto
Bed: vintage. : Matteo. Lights: passed from Ana’s mother.
To strong women: I like this printing on my bed from Danny Lyon – have pictures of his wife’s wife, and it’s called ‘Super Woman’ because there’s a mother’s mom. I like this house, and I tap on the strength of strong female numbers whenever I go.
Thank you so much, there!
PS There are still many other trips at homeincluding A mother in an apartment with a swing and A very colorful Connecticut.
